Heavy Tractors
VTA supplies complete equipment for heavy tractors: a range of fifth wheels, behind-the-cab cabinets housing fuel and hydraulic tanks, and fixed or removable 10 t or 13 t additional axles. From a 6x4 or 8x4 base vehicle to a finished 10x4 heavy tractor.

Products
Fifth Wheels
Four different 3.5" fifth wheel constructions are available, intended exclusively for special transport.
The permitted fifth wheel load U = 38–50 t depending on the model. The fifth wheel height is 1350–1450 mm depending on the load and customer requirements.

Cabinets & Tanks
VTA combination tank (800 L diesel + 200 L hydraulic) and a cabinet behind the cab.
Several cabinet heights are available depending on the customer's intended use. Side wind deflectors affect the cabinet construction.
The cabinet doors can open to the side or rearward, and optionally in both directions.

Removable axle
A 13 t removable 4th or 5th axle can be fitted to the rear of a 3- or 4-axle heavy tractor. The axle is equipped with a separate EBS braking system. The bogie spacing can be extended beyond 1800 mm with a separate extension piece, allowing higher axle masses for Norwegian traffic.

Other towing equipment
A range of additional equipment and supporting systems can be fitted to the heavy tractor as needed, supporting daily use and completing the towing setup as a whole.
- Walkway behind the cabinet with extending ladders on both the left and right sides.
- Hydraulics for fifth wheel shifting and the trailer are normally driven by a hydraulic pump mounted on the engine PTO. In some cases lifting cylinders are also needed to support the EHTV gooseneck.
- Oversize transport lights.
- Typical electrical equipment includes work lights, a NATO socket, oversize transport lights, hydraulics control, cabinet interior lights, cabinet heating and trailer controls.
- A drawbar coupling can also be fitted to the rear of the truck for towing a dolly or trailer.
- A support platform is normally needed behind the fifth wheel for the trailer's gooseneck support cylinders.
- If space allows, tool boxes or sanders can be installed on the sides of the frame.
- Side guards or side cover plates are also possible, although not mandatory on an EHTV tractor.
