The TL12 is an L-type timber crane with a 12-ton lifting capacity, available with two arm lengths: 8.0 m and 9.7 m. Featuring robust protection for the hydraulic system, the high-performing TL12 offers four different control methods and optional PALFINGER Smart Control. Designed for demanding conditions.
Smart Control & integrated electronic end stop damper
PALFINGER's new boom-tip control system, Smart Control, is available as an option. It makes crane operation easier, more intuitive and faster: rather than each cylinder, the operator focuses solely on the boom tip. The system optimizes movement in every position and reduces operator fatigue. An integrated electronic end stop damper reduces wear, and sensors can be serviced without removing the hydraulic cylinders.
The fastest in its class
High performance: Load Sensing (LS) enables up to 12% faster operation and drives up efficiency. Generation 3 models feature larger pipe and hose cross-sections, optimized hydraulic matching, newly developed telescopic cylinders and specifically adapted dimensions for fast, precise movements.
Protected hydraulic routing
Epslink, Epscope, internal hose routing (HPI) and outstanding stability form an ideal combination. The integrated systems protect against mechanical damage, particularly when working in dense forests.
Central greasing system
Greasing has never been so easy. The automatic system supplies all key systems — no lubrication point is overlooked. It extends the service life of bronze bearings and uses approximately 2 kg of grease per year (based on 1,000 operating hours).
LED360 — complete visibility
The LED360 system comprises six LED lights on the control stand and a further two on the knuckle boom — each with 3,000-lumen output. It provides full 360° illumination for low-light and inclement weather.

Standard Features & Technology
Protected hydraulics
Integrated hose routing and structural safeguards protect the hydraulic system from mechanical damage — reliable operation in the forest.
EPSLINK
Patented link-rotator with internal hose routing and a four-eye-cast design — durability and serviceability combined.
EPSCOPE
Extension boom system with single or double telescope — hoses are protected inside the structure.
HPI – Hose Package Inside
Protected hydraulic routing inside the booms reduces the risk of mechanical damage — especially in dense forests.
Central lubrication system
Reduces grease consumption by up to 80% and supplies all key systems automatically — approx. 2 kg grease per year (1,000 operating hours).
Outriggers
Support widths 3.9–5.4 m with full-length design extending service life.
Emergency stop
Standard on all control methods — safe shutdown in dangerous situations.
Seat switch
Integrated safety mechanism ensures controls are active only while the operator is seated.
Operating hour counter
Built-in tracking device enables accurate maintenance scheduling.
Optional Features
Smart Control
Boom-tip control system — the operator focuses on the boom tip rather than individual cylinders. Includes an integrated electronic end stop damper.
Load Sensing (LS)
Enables up to 12% faster operation — improves efficiency in demanding lifts.
LED360 lighting
Six 3,000-lumen floodlights on the control stand plus two on the knuckle boom — full 360° illumination for low-light and inclement weather.
Automatic central lubrication
Electric grease pump with distributed feeding — lubrication is fully automated.
